Program Mission Statement
The Cardiovascular Technology program’s mission is to educate competent entry-level technologists to serve the public healthcare needs.  We are committed to providing each student a high quality education through innovative and engaging instruction, and role modeling.

Program Goal
To prepare competent entry-level cardiovascular technologists in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains for invasive cardiovascular technology.
The program goal represents the minimum expectations and is based upon the communities of interest served by the Cardiovascular program.
The program-specific goals of the Invasive Cardiovascular Technology program are to develop a graduate who is able to:

1. Demonstrate a basic knowledge of the healthcare industry with specific attention to the invasive cardiovascular environment to include legal and ethical guidelines
2. Develop an appreciation of the human anatomy and physiology as it relates to the cardiac system, wellness of the body, and the quality of life
3. Develop communication skills for interacting with patients, healthcare professionals, and the public
4. Develop an understanding of the ionizing effects of radiation and utilize the appropriate protective equipment, and ALARA principles, specific to Invasive Cardiovascular procedures
5. Conduct pre-procedural, intra-procedural, and post-procedural activities
6. Perform diagnostic studies to include digital recording materials and data
7. Perform interventional procedures
8. Demonstrate and understand the basic organization and operational model of a Cardiovascular Technology Department and healthcare professional
